【摘要】:1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthetensilepropertiesofthermosettingreinforcedplasticsusingtestspecimensofuniformnominalwidthwhentestedunderdefinedconditionsofpretreatment,temperature,humidity,andtesting-machinespeed.Note18212;Experiencewiththistestmethodtodatehasbeenlimitedtoglass-reinforcedthermosets.Applicabilitytoothermaterialsremainstobedetermined.1.2Thistestmethodcanbeusedfortestingmaterialsofanythicknessupto14mm(0.55in.).Note28212;Thistestmethodisnotintendedtocoverprecisephysicalprocedures.Itisrecognizedthattheconstant-rate-of-crosshead-movementtypeoftestleavesmuchtobedesiredfromatheoreticalstandpoint,thatwidedifferencesmayexistbetweenrate-of-crossheadmovementandrateofstrainbetweengagemarksonthespecimen,andthatthetestingspeedsspecifieddisguiseimportanteffectscharacteristicofmaterialsintheplasticstate.Further,itisrealizedthatvariationsinthethicknessesoftestspecimensthatarepermittedbytheseprocedures,producevariationsinthesurface-volumeratiosofsuchspecimens,andthatthesevariationsmayinfluencethetestresults.Hence,wheredirectlycomparableresultsaredesired,allsamplesshouldbeofequalthickness.Specialadditionaltestsshouldbeusedwheremoreprecisephysicaldataareneeded.Note38212;Useofthistestmethodfortestingmaterialsofthicknessesgreaterthan14mm(0.55in.)isnotrecommended.Reducingthethicknessbymachiningmaybeacceptableformaterialsofuniformreinforcementamountanddirection,butisgenerallynotrecommended.1.3Testdataobtainedbythistestmethodisrelevantandappropriateforuseinengineeringdesign.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Theinch-poundunitsgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Note48212;ThistestmethodistechnicallyequivalenttoISO527-4exceptasnotedbelow:(a)ThistestmethoddoesnotincludetestingoftheTypeIdogboneshapedspecimendescribedinISO527-4.Testingofthistypeofspecimen,primarilyusedforreinforcedandun-reinforcedthermoplasticmaterials,isdescribedinTestMethodD638.(b)Thethicknessoftestspecimensinthistestmethodincludesthe2mmto10mmthicknessrangeofISO527-4,butexpandstheallowabletestthicknessto14mm.Note58212;Fortensilepropertiesofresin-matrixcompositesreinforcedwithorientedcontinuousordiscontinuoushighmodulus>20-Gpa(>3.0106-psi)fibers,testsshallbemadeinaccordancewithTestMethodD3039orISO527Part5.
