【摘要】:1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthewaterabsorptionofrigidcellularplasticsbymeasuringthechangeinbuoyantforceresultingfromimmersionundera5.1-cm(2-in.)headofwaterforthespecifiedimmersionperiodof96h.1.2Thistestmethoddescribestwoproceduresthatshallbeusedtomeasurethechangeinbuoyantforce.ProcedureAshallbeusedformaterialsthateitherexperiencerapidwaterabsorptionorthatshowanincreaseinvolumeduringtheexposureperiod,orboth.MaterialsthatdonotexhibiteitherofthesecharacteristicsshallbeevaluatedbyProcedureB.1.3Forspecificapplications,immersionperiodsvaryingfromthenormal96-htestrequirementshallbeagreeduponbetweenthemanufacturerandthepurchaser.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.ThistestmethodisequivalenttoISO2896.
